Lyle is a Yankton (Ihanktowan) Sioux Tribe member.  He is a 1993 graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University with an art major and minor in  psychology and secondary education.  He teaches the Lakota language - the language of his heritage - to students at a tribal school.  Lyle paints the history, culture, rituals and legends of his people in acrylics and watercolors.
