Lesley's work is a collection of witnessed or experienced events in the life of the working cowboy.  She holds a deep respect and admiration for those who have chosen this tough but rewarding way of life.  Her work as a visual artist is her way of honoring and eternalizing them.

Time spent in the saddle and painting outdoors are the two main methods used to gather photogaphic references in order to later compose a painting in her studio.

She finds oil paint is the best means of expression due to its malleability, intensity of color, ability to reflect light, and its adaptibility to paint any texture.

She feels an unspoken connection with her collectors, an emotional understanding of her subject.  This shared energy  motivates and sustains her as an artist.
