Jim is an artist who lives and paints in Cody , Wyoming , his native hometown. His love for the area is evident in the subject matter of his artwork.
He has had a compassion for art all of his life. Over the years his personal style has had variations but they have always demanded people's attention.
His unique and unrestrictive style in compositions is achieved with both the palette knife and brush.
Many of his inspirations come from his surroundings. These include his highly textured "Desert Scenes and Indian Ruins" from Arizona where he lived for a period of time in his life. Recently he has included "Modern Day Rodeo" and "Wildlife" which are so much a part of Wyoming .
While in college, one of his paintings was displayed at the Phoenix Art Museum . Through the years his art has been shown in various galleries in Arizona , Wyoming , and Colorado . He was selected as the "Artist of the Month" at the Art Illusion Gallery in Mesa , Arizona and was chosen as feature artist by the Arizona Artist Forum in Gilbert , Arizona . He has received many awards at various art shows throughout his career. Also among his accomplishments, a painting for the cover of the Gilbert Yellow Pages.
