ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERS Shangri La WoodworksPrimary Medium: woodProfile Shangri La Woodworks is a husband and wife team residing in beautiful New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment". We are makers of fine custom furniture and carved sculptural vessels. Although we specialize in rockers and chairs, we also make tables, office furniture, bedroom sets, living room furniture, hutches and much more. We work with all types woods, from burls, to exotics and domestic hardwoods. Although our furniture designs are mainly contemporary, we can make all styles and designs. We especially like creating "One of a Kind" pieces, such as our "Theme Desks" or to use bentwood lamination in our designs, like some of our tables.
We also create carved vessels and wall sculptures. Most of these pieces come from "Forest Reclaimed" wood. We first use a chainsaw to remove a bulk of the wood and start creating the design. Then grinders are used to finish the design, add folds, bends and curves. We then add Turquoise or other gems and stones into the natural cracks and crevices. Each creation is a true "One of a Kind" collectors piece for the home or office.
Since we are a husband and wife team, you are assured that we are the ones that design and create your special piece. You deal with only us from beginning to end. We stand behind all our creations and ensure that they will last for generations.
