Art of the American West - Bill MittagPrimary Medium: Oil on LinenProfile
I grew up in the sandhills of southeastern New Mexico, 15 miles from the nearest small town. My playmates and pals were my horses. I believe those days developed my imagination and inspired my desire to draw and later paint the American West.
My art is shown in several major galleries in Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
I have exhibited in invitational shows as Gilcrease Museum (miniataure), CM Russell Museum, Albuquerque Museum , Settlers West Gallery American Minatures, Coors Western and Wildlife, Museum of Western Art and Western Artists of America.
My art has been featured in Southwest Art (featured article), Western Art Collector and American Artists magazines.
Organizations: Western Artists of America, Lifetime Artist member of the Mountain Oyster Club and PRCA permit #7244 (1962)
