Memories and impressions are stirred by her surroundings in the rural, ranching culture of eastern Montana. She especially draws upon a deep treasury of images retained by years of observing the behavior of the horse; their social interactions and their unique connection to humans. Contemporary western life, ranching and rodeo are also favorite subjects.
