ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERS
Matthew PlaczekLocation: Omaha, NEPrimary Medium: Bronze, Stainless Steel, ArylicProfileOver the past 20 years, I’ve designed and installed numerous sculptures ranging from single figures cast in bronze to extensive, multi-media installations using steel, and acrylic coupled with color and natural light. I work closely with members of the commissioning entities to identify goals and objectives before the work begins. When the final design is approved, my assembled team works efficiently to engineer, fabricate and install the various forms of artwork. I am a strong proponent of working in tandem with the various clients to create great works of art for everyone to relate to.
My style of art represents my hands-on, interactive approach to life. You’ll notice quickly that the sculptures I create are designed with the viewer in mind. Essentially, I’m giving them an open invitation to interact with and explore my work. That is one of the main objectives I keep in mind as I develop my sculptures…whether they are in public arenas, office parks or plazas. My goal is to create a visual identity to commensurate with the venue and make it interactive for all to enjoy.
