ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERS
Rough Edges DesignLocation: Jasper, INPrimary Medium: ConcreteProfile A deeply rooted belief that I have always held is that furniture and home accessories should be beautiful and serve as art in the same way as a painting hanging on the wall. Some of my work includes found and recycled objects and the integration of iron in its natural, and many times, rusted state. I am inspired by the old world charm of the fortressed villages of Europe. The architecture and concrete sculptures that have recorded the effects of time for centuries never cease to make my heart yearn to experience more of these enticing cultures. On the flip side, contemporary architecture inspires my desire for clean, uncluttered and simple. When these inspirations are combined, it is my hope that I’ve achieved a minimalistic style that is rich in texture and highlights the material in its raw and imperfect state. I’m also drawn to the implicit natural strength of concrete. My lamps are sturdy and stable. They will not only stay put; they will withstand the test of time gaining patina from years of use.
