My family moved every two years or so to a new place, whether it be New Mexico, Texas, California, Australia, Indonesia, Oklahoma or Colorado. Beginning at the age of about eight, my need to express and share these images compelled me to paint. Few of my paintings include elements of modern urbanization. Perhaps that's a bit of the romantic or naturalist in me. Painting outside on location is by far the most challenging and rewarding way to capture a mood and moment. My goal as an artist is to communicate...to share those moods of nature with my viewer."
